Dance Education
Julia is a passionate dance and wellness educator. She received her MFA from the University of North Carolina- Greensboro. In North Carolina she served as an adjunct faculty at UNC-Greensboro, as a dance adjudicator, Dance Instructor and Self and Society faculty for Governor's School of North Carolina West Campus and as adult Contemporary and Pilates staff at City Arts in Greensboro. After relocating from NC to NYC, Julia continued to teach master classes and workshops while focusing on creating choreographic works. In NYC she also began honing the art of teaching Pilates to dancers of all ages and backgrounds from preprofessional to retired.
Most recently, Julia served as adjunct faculty in Mount Mary University's Department of Movement, Music and Dance where she was enthused to develop and teach Modern 1 & 2, Ballet 1, Experiencing Dance, Dance Composition, Dance in Film, Community Dance, Pilates, Movement Based Stress Reduction and Navigating Modern Wellness. Additionally before relocating to Madison, she taught Adult and Youth Ballet and Contemporary at Danceworks, Inc and in the Milwaukee Public Schools through their Mad Hot Tap and Ballroom Program. Both Mount Mary and Danceworks combined inclusiveness with rigor of study. These values are at the core of Julia's love for dance education. She looks forward to growing her teaching practice in her new community, Madison WI.
